Transimpedance Amplifiers
SL 82716
General Description
The SL82716 is 4-channel, high performance transimpedance amplifier
(TIA) with integrated limiting amplifier (LA). The device was optimized
for power critical optical data transport applications with respect to
various transmission standards.
The SL82716 features a low input referred noise, which enables a BER of
10-12 at 3.5 Gbps for an input current of 20 µApp.
This allows for an optical input sensitivity of about -15 dBm if
connected to a typical photodiode.
As additional feature the SL82716 integrates an input current mirror
function, which allows to determine the received input power.
Furthermore, the SL82716 exhibits an advanced activation function, which
allows to switch the 4-channel amplifier between hibernate and active
mode.
To facilitate assembly in small form factor packages the SL82716
integrates the photodiode filter network on chip.
The SL82716 chip area is less than 1.0 mm², operates from a dual 1.2 V
and 2.5 V or 3.3 V power supply and is available in bare die form.
